# Payment

> Manage payment methods.

Manage your payment methods in the [dashboard](https://dashboard.prem.io/billing). Prem uses payment methods for [balance top-ups](/billing/balance) and [auto top-up](/billing/balance#auto-top-up).

## Add a payment method

Add a new card in the dashboard. Stripe stores the card securely. You can use the card for subsequent transactions.

## Default payment method

You can store more than one payment method. But **you must set one payment method as the default**. Prem uses the default payment method for:

* Manual balance top-ups
* Automatic top-ups, when your balance goes below the configured threshold
